Missed the Sign Right in Front of Me

51 He then got into the boat with them, and the wind died down. The disciples were completely confused. 52 Their minds were closed, and they could not understand the true meaning of the loaves of bread.

So the event is the miracle, Jesus walking on the stormy water, but the confusion is about the miracle, feeding with the loaves of bread... HUH? So line this up here -- they were afraid when they say Jesus 'cuz they thought he was a ghost - and they were afraid because they did not understand about the loaves. At the minimum, this means the miracle of the loaves was an important sign or had an important message about Jesus. Theologians tell us the loaves event points to Jesus as the promised Servant of the Lord, or the Messiah, from some Old Testament passages. So...the disciples were confused about the walking on the water because they did not understand the signage God had put right in front of them. Sorta makes me wonder - how many times have I been confused about what God is doing because I missed an earlier signpost, did not pay attention to His Action in my life the last couple of days. Or maybe just quit thinking about spiritual things for a bit until I really needed some input from the Spirit. I really would like to get all the info God is passing to me. It would help, don't 'cha think?

God of Heaven and Earth - Your Word makes it clear You are constantly sending communication my way. Help me to hear and respond. Even more, please make sure I do not miss any signs You place right in front of me. I can be confused enough - don't let me make it worse.
